Preschool

The Sebastopol Union School District is pleased to offer a Kindergarten Readiness Program for three to five year olds located on the Park Side Elementary School campus. Out of District children are welcome too, on a space available basis. In operating the preschool program, the District’s goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, enriching environment that fosters the developmental skills (social/emotional, physical/sensory, and cognitive/language) children need for Kindergarten. We are in touch with the Kindergarten teachers at both Park Side Elementary and Brook Haven Schools who have assisted us in designing a program that properly prepares children for success in school. CASTLE preschoolers become familiar with the Park Side campus and even join in activities such as assemblies, emergency drills, and visits to the Kindergarten classrooms.

The Preschool also shares resources with the other programs of CASTLE including funds, space, materials, equipment, expertise and personnel. The preschoolers participate in special events such as bouncy houses, water slides, and petting zoos. They also join the school age children when they are visited by magicians, puppet shows, reptile education programs, Stuff-n-Fluff workshops, canine companions, music and movement, and more.
